The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck by Mark Manson

This book has some really crazy and twisted views on how to live the happiest life you can, however some of the advice is really helpful. I feel that everyone should attempt to read this book as there is something for everyone to take into account in their everyday life. I usually read these types of books hoping to learn something, but never actually putting the advice into practice. This book's 'rules for life' can be easily and effectively used and from my experience, it can improve your life.

Bra-lets with Under-wiring from Cotton On

When I saw these, I got really excited! If you have a bigger bust than the average girl you will know that finding a bra-let that fits properly and gives you adequate support is extremely difficult. But with the under-wiring and finding a good size, these are very wearable. The lacey patterns are very pretty and comfortable. They are R250 each and I chose a black, navy and white one to test them out. They also have them in a pretty pink and light blue.

Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara 

My friend introduced me to this mascara. It's in my favourites because it NEVER CLUMPS! It goes on so smoothly and very clearly makes every eyelash longer. You can get it from about any drugstore and it's not that expensive. 

We Heart It

I found this app somewhere around 2012, when all my friends crazed over it. It is basically a browser for lots of different pictures. I have found a new love for it recently as I find so much inspiration from  the pictures and it is a relaxing past-time. I like to print the pictures I really like and put them on my wall. There are also lots of bedroom and life inspiration that you can 'heart' and follow.

My Bedroom Updated

About 2 months ago I moved, and with moving comes a lot of changes to my room. I love decorating and changing my room every now-and-again. After getting some gifts and going shopping for my room, I decided to swop my colour scheme to pinks, rose gold, greys and white. I hope you get some ideas for your own room from mine.

The Best Oldies

My parents have always had a big influence on me as we are very close. This includes music. From a young age I was introduced to bands like Duran Duran, Simple Minds, Wham and Queen while driving to far places. Naturally, I have found my favourites among the 80s and 90s mix and after scoping through mine and my dad's playlist, I decided to pick my top 20 for you to enjoy! Please don't be scared of old music, it is a hundred times better than the top 40 of the now. I promise you'll find some you'll like.

Winter Is Here | I'M BACK

WOW, I have missed this! It's been so long. I have started a new year in a new grade that turned out to be a little harder than I thought. No worries, my mid-year exams are complete and I'm back to write.

Winter is upon us in South Africa. Winter, as in 20 degrees celsius. So I've come up with a little things to do to make most of our version of winter! Enjoy the holidays and stay warm :

have a movie day!

I'm sure there's a physical or mental list of movies that you haven't watched due to the amount of work school piles on your head. On one of those rainy days, stay in with a blanket and a bowl of popcorn and smarties ( my favourite ). Here's a few movies on my list { click for the trailer ; ) }

Make yourself even colder by finding your closest ice rink and laugh at yourself as your bum gets colder and colder and ......

go to the movie theatre, or a normal one

Get to the nearest shopping centre and go watch a movie you would never choose for yourself ( I would recommend The Conjuring 2 if you're scared of horrors.... I still haven't had a good night's sleep ). Then after it's done, try sneak into another movie without having to pay!

Or you could go online and book a ticket at your local theatre to go watch an actual comedic play for a change.

go to the beach

You might be lucky and have a day of sun, take advantage of that and take a little picnic and lie in the sun for a bit. You'll feel a lot nicer afterwards. If it's a little cloudy,  go and sit in your jersey and choice of warm beverage and just listen to the sea in all its glory.

decorate a little

If you're like me, you like to change the look of your bedroom all the time. So when you're a little bored, change your room a bit. Move your bed, change the decor on your desk. What I've recently been obsessed over is printing inspirational and cute quotes and sticking them all over my wall until it's completely covered! I went on Pinterest, blogs and WeHeartIt for quotes.

Back - to - school stationery shopping can be rough for some, but I like to seize the opportunity to buy things that might make school more enjoyable.

Favourite Fashion Celebrities

  

Now that summer has arrived (oh my word thank the pope), I find myself searching for fashion inspiration. I've come across three celebrities that I keep coming back to. Perrie Edwards (part of Little Mix), Sarah Hyland (from Modern Family) and Zooey Deschanel (from New Girl) have a very hippie and girly style that I am loving. Flowing skirts and dresses and old-fashioned high-waisted pants and skirts are things that I've had my eye on for this summer! It's just so adorable!

The Old-Fashioned Dungaree

This is very different for me, but I decided to do a sort of editorial post on two outfits that I'm loving.  I picked up this dungaree the other week and I have fallen completely in love with it. I love the frayed holes and the loose boyfriend jeans and it is so comfortable! Needless to say, I'm happy they're in fashion. The first outfit is a more casual look. I just went with a loose white top and cute, black strappy shoes. I thought this was a very cute, sunny-day-out outfit. The second outfit is a little more formal (sort of. I tried.) with a long sleeved white and black stripped shirt. I also chose black 'Mary Poppins' high heels and added a suede bag just because I thought it looked nice.

Lust List

Going shopping is very dangerous for me. When I leave, I have a mental list of ANOTHER group of things that I want to get, validating me going back to the shops. Here are a few things that I would love to pick up on my next trip to our shopping centres :

These shades are just amazing! I've been looking for an eye shadow with the exact pinky shade in this palette so I'll defiantly go to grab this.

I've been looking for nude and light pink lipsticks for a while and when Zoella mentioned these shades in a video I had to seek them out for myself!

Matte Nail Polish is so different and I'm loving it!

The Suede Skirt

It seems the new trend is the suede skirt. This one is by Hinge I think, but I'm hoping I can get one in the shops near me. (inspiration: Rosy Outlook )

Superga

These are the Classic Supergas and I am in love with them. They're so simple and could literally go with any outfit. These shoes are a must!

One thing that is really thriving this year is rose gold. With the new trend, rose gold watches and necklaces, it's easily became one of my favourite colour or 'metal'. Not quite sure what to call it. I am also loving succulents. They are so cute and I literally teach them like my little pets. 

I just thought rose gold and the little green plants were such a great match. Hope it gives you some ideas!

The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure By James Dashner

A bit after I read the sequel to The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trails, I started the third book, The Death Cure. I don't know if I was just bored of the story by then, but I was very disappointed by this book. It just dragged and sort of 'force read' it. If you're anything like me, you can't just give up a book in the middle of the story, but I wasn't very tempted.

This was probably the worst out of the three novels I've read so far. I will, however, read the next book in the series purely to see if it is any better. The story did have a fair few exciting scenes amongst the boys in the group and WICKED but most of the book just didn't tickle my fancy. The storyline was a little unclear, no new, exciting characters and the ending was highly unsatisfying and rushed. I would only recommend the book to people who are REALLY indulged in the series and feel they wouldn't be able to live without knowing what Thomas and the boys do next.

After Thomas finds himself trapped inside the WICKED headquarters, he finds his friends and plan an escape. Once in the 'real world', Thomas and the boys fuel a new spark of anger towards WICKED through many 'incidents' and explanations. Thomas finds himself fighting against cranks and people he thought he could trust. As the story behind WICKED and the Flare becomes tangled and then slowly unraveled, Thomas is caught between saving and betraying.

Beach And The Sunrise

Living on the coast, you sometimes take for granted what's right in front of you. I see the ocean on a daily basis but there are only a few times when I actually get to see our seas. A weekend of outdoors is something we all need once in a while. Staring at the stars. Watching sunsets and sunrises. And if you're really lucky, spending a day by the ocean. 

Nature is something people should use to rejuvenate themselves and find that just outside that window, there is something peaceful and beautiful to feast your eyes. Waves do make the best music. ♥
